FROM HIGH SHERIFF TO DEPUTY LIEUTENANT
Posted on: August 12, 2015
Chancerygate is proud to announce that its Director and General Counsel, Peter Lee, has been appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey. This honour follows Peter’s appointment in 2014 as High Sheriff of Surrey in what was a demanding year for him carrying out numerous ceremonial and other duties in addition to his directorship responsibilities at Chancerygate (see news item posted January 27 2014). Following the end of his Shrieval year, Peter was commissioned as a Deputy Lieutenant by the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, Dame Sarah Goad DCVO JP. As a DL, Peter’s role is to support and promote the Lieutenancy in Surrey and to represent the Lord Lieutenant performing a range of public duties when required.
Commenting on his appointment Peter said: “This is a huge honour for me and provides a platform for me to continue some of the work and duties I performed during my year as High Sheriff. Having the opportunity to help and be associated with so many good causes throughout Surrey has been extremely rewarding.”
All at Chancerygate congratulate Peter on his appointment as a Deputy Lieutenant.
