Leading industrial developer, Chancerygate, has appointed Richard Bains as its new Managing Director.
He will join the company from Rockspring where he was Head of the UK business, and will take up his new position when the current Chancerygate MD, Eddie Cook, retires later this year.
Commenting on the appointment, Chancerygate Founder and Chairman, Andrew Johnson, said: “The breadth and depth of Richard’s experience make him ideally suited to lead Chancerygate into the next phase of its corporate evolution.
Our expansion beyond our traditional focus in London and the South East has seen the creation of a significant development pipeline and we believe that the market offers many more opportunities for our blend of development and asset management expertise.
A great deal of the credit for Chancerygate’s progress during the last seven years is due to Eddie Cook who has tirelessly led the operational side of the business through the last recession and helped build its capabilities. On behalf of all the team, I would like to thank him for the massive contribution he has made to the company.”
Richard Bains joined Rockspring from The CIT Group and also previously worked at Baring Houston & Saunders and Cluttons. Throughout his career, he has gained significant experience across the UK in fund management, asset management, investment acquisitions, fund raising and debt structuring.
He commented: “Chancerygate is a highly respected company with a healthy balance sheet that continues to grow year on year. I am greatly looking forward to working with the team to build on the success of the core business and take the company to the next level through the pursuit of fresh opportunities.”
