Leading industrial developer and asset manager, Chancerygate has hosted a charity hiking event in the North Downs, Surrey for friends and contacts in the property sector.
65 hikers took part, consisting of Chancerygate’s home team and friends from across the property sector including agents, funds and consultants. The aim of the event was to raise money for Parkinson’s UK and Sparkles – the two charities that Chancerygate has chosen to fundraise for this year.
The hikers embarked on a 9-mile circular route set in an area of outstanding natural beauty which included some challenging uphill stints, woodland paths and provided some great viewpoints from the downs across the county.
The event has so far raised over £4k through generous donations made by those attending as well as friends and contacts.
Chancerygate’s CSR programme was set up this year by Managing Director, Richard Bains. The Chancerygate team voted to support Parkinson’s UK and Sparkles – a charity supporting children with Down’s syndrome in Buckinghamshire through the provision of a wide range of therapies. In addition to fundraising, Chancerygate employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and skills to support a range of good causes including charities connected with the Baker Street Quarter Partnership Smarter Giving programme and Help for Heroes.
Richard Bains commented: “We were delighted to host our first hiking event in Surrey in aid of two charities close to the heart of the Chancerygate team.
We would like to say a big thank you to all those who made efforts to support the event. It was great to walk alongside so many friends and partners representing companies from across the sector. In addition, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of friends and partners who have provided donations to both charities over the last few weeks. The goodwill has kick-started our fundraising programme and we look forward to continuing our efforts.”
