On 31st October Chancerygate once again packed the crates and moved its London office to larger and new premises at 12A Upper Berkeley Street, W1.
Having started in humble surroundings in 1995 in its industrial development heartland of Park Royal West London, the company moved in 1999 to Hemel Hempstead where it stayed until November 2009 before relocating to new premises in the heart of Mayfair. After 7 years of operating from 35 Hay’s Mews and a period of consolidating the business during the ‘credit crunch’, Chancerygate spring boarded rapid and sustained growth in the wake of the Lehman’s collapse. This growth culminated with an urgent need to move to larger premises this year.
Eddie Cook, Managing Director of Chancerygate commented “the business growth and the larger team at Chancerygate meant we simply outgrew our space at Hay’s Mews. Coming to London in 2009 and setting up in Mayfair was a big step for us and the move on to Upper Berkeley Street is another massive leap forward for the company allowing it to move forward with its longer term vision. The timing of the move was therefore right for us and we have committed to a new 15 year lease in a modern 7000 sq ft office building behind a Georgian retained facade on the Portman Estate. The new office provides us with the open plan floorplates we require and allows further expansion space as the company grows.”
The London move is the second new office for Chancerygate within the same year and in July its newly formed NW team based in Manchester headed by Mike Walker relocated to a newly acquired virtual freehold office in Birchwood, Warrington. Mike Walker, Development Director commented: “Moving from the centre of Manchester and close to an important node on the M6 motorway allows us easy access to strategic industrial and logistics locations whist still being able to travel quickly to the major city locations of Manchester and Liverpool. Having recruited an asset manager and project manager during 2016 we will be growing the team in the NW on the back of the schemes we are bringing forward in the region and the new accommodation allows us to expand the team as part of our longer term plans.”
