Energy saving facts


  • Over 203 tonnes of CO2 will be saved per annum for developments completed in 2017
  • 95% of our developments achieved an EPC rating of ‘A’, with an average score of 19
  • 26,017 sq ft of PV panels were installed across our developments


  • Forecasted to save at least 251 tonnes of CO2 per annum from developments under construction in 2018
  • 38,288 sq ft of PV panels will be installed on developments currently under construction

We have a proven track record to provide properties that meet the environmental standards that our customers demand. As a minimum, we ensure the following are actioned across our developments:

  • Appointment of Ecologist: To investigate ecological measures of development sites to maintain or enhance beneficial ecological value
  • BREEAM Assessment: To review all environmental aspects of the site and the proposed building and to achieving the highest rating possible, with ‘VERY GOOD’ as our minimum target
  • To investigate alternative sources of renewable energy and to determine their suitability in a Chancerygate development
  • To strive to provide a minimum Energy Performance Certification (EPC): rating of ‘A’
  • Use of high performance insulated cladding and roof materials
  • Design of lighting to maximise daylighting and minimise light pollution, with LED fittings in offices and yards
  • To provide electric car charging points to 20% of spaces
  • Improved water consumption: By providing specific water saving devices within the plumbing system
  • Travel and transport planning: To encourage less reliance on single occupancy private car travel
